The Rushmoor Fireworks Spectacular will not be going ahead at Manor Park, Aldershot, this year, but we hope to see it return in the future. Please read our update to find out more.

Update on Rushmoor Fireworks Spectacular

Because of the pandemic, the council has not been able to hold the Rushmoor Fireworks Spectacular for the last two years.

This pause in the event has given us the opportunity to start thinking about how it could be provided in a way that doesn’t place a strain on local council taxpayers.

We know that the fireworks spectacular has been popular with many people over the years, and also that elsewhere, such events are run by other organisations. We therefore want to explore how we could transfer the organising of the event in future to another operator.

This will take us some time to work through and because the fireworks spectacular takes several months of planning and organising, we are not in a position to go ahead with the event this year.

We understand this may be disappointing to those who enjoy the event but given the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on the council, our residents and our businesses, we have a responsibility to make sure the event can be provided in a sustainable way.

Although we are not holding the fireworks spectacular, there are local events taking place in Aldershot and Farnborough. These include the Friends of The Cambridge Primary School at Wellesley, Aldershot, who will be hosting a free fireworks extravaganza on Thursday 3 November and Farnborough Football Club, which will be holding a fireworks display, fun fair and disco on Friday 4 November.
