We have partner towns around the world in France, Germany, Poland, the USA and Nepal.

We signed our first twinning agreement with Meudon in France in 1974 and have extended our international partnerships ever since.

Our partner towns are:

  • Meudon, France
  • Oberursel, Germany
  • Rzeszow, Poland
  • Sulechow, Poland
  • Dayton, Ohio, USA
  • Gorkha Municipality, Nepal

Why we have partner towns

Originally, it was to build up cultural, educational and sporting links and partnerships between clubs, societies and schools in Rushmoor, with like-minded organisations in our partner towns. In more recent times, we have included business and economic links.

Why we need these links

  • They play an important part in building up our understanding of other countries and cultures and focus minds on our local history and economy
  • They provide opportunities for residents and local businesses such as educational visits, performing in music or dance festivals, participating in sports tournaments, exchanges, business contacts and trade delegation visits
  • We can learn much from how organisations in other parts of the world do things

How to get involved

Rushmoor International Association is an independent group that manages the links between local organisations and those in our partner towns.

It is made up of volunteers and representatives from the local community who are interested in developing and encouraging links with our partner towns.

If you would like to join or find out more about the association and Rushmoor's partner towns, please visit the Rushmoor International Association website.
