Along with other councils affected by the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area, we have prepared a delivery framework to make sure we take a consistent approach to protecting the special protection area.
We have also developed an avoidance and mitigation strategy setting out the approach that we will follow to avoid harm to the heathlands arising from additional residential development.

Habitats regulations assessment
To a support the local plan, we prepared a Habitats regulations assessment (2017) to assess if the local plan would have significant adverse effects on the integrity of internationally-designated sites of nature conservation importance, or Natura 2000 sites.
