Cargate Conservation Area is an area designated as having special architectural or historic interest, the character of which it is desirable to preserve and enhance.
In 2021, following public consultation the Council adopted a Character Appraisal and Management Plan that sets out the special architectural and historic interest of the Conservation Area, which justifies its designation as a heritage asset, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance. This document should be read alongside the Conservation Overview Document which sets out the context in which conservation areas in Rushmoor have been designated.
