Find out how we allocate social housing in Rushmoor and who is eligible for help.

We do not have a housing register

We do not have a housing register or an application to join a register.

Instead we prefer to speak with you to offer realistic advice about your housing options.

How to get help

Please call our housing options team on 01252 398 634 and we will do our best to help go through your housing options.

Who we can help

The demand for social housing in Aldershot and Farnborough is greater than the number of homes available.

So that social housing goes to people who need it most, we have a housing allocation scheme. This gives priority to those with the greatest need.

Examples of people in housing need are:

  • People who are homeless or threatened with homelessness
  • Someone who has a serious medical problem which is directly linked to where they live at the moment
  • People who are living in very overcrowded accommodation

Our housing allocation scheme

As part of our housing allocation scheme, we have a housing allocation pool, rather than a housing register. The pool is made up of people who are eligible for our help and who we can home in a reasonable time. We prioritise people in that pool using a simple banding scheme.

There is no application form to complete to join the housing allocation pool. We prefer to speak to you to offer realistic advice about your housing options.

To find out more about how we prioritise people in Rushmoor for social housing, see our Rushmoor Housing Allocation Scheme document or contact our Housing Options team using the contact details on this page.

Help for those who can't join the scheme

If you aren't eligible to join our housing allocation scheme, we can still help you by giving you advice on what your other options are. Please call our housing options team on 01252 398 634

Please see our help buying your own home page for information about shared ownership schemes.
