South Farnborough Conservation Area is an area designated as having special architectural or historic interest, the character of which it is desirable to preserve and enhance.

South Farnborough Conservation Area mapThe South Farnborough Conservation Area was first designated in 1987 and reviewed in 2025.

In 2025, following public consultation, we adopted a Character Appraisal and Management Plan that sets out the special architectural and historic interest of the conservation area and which justifies its designation as a heritage asset.

The appraisal identifies which features of the conservation area make a positive or negative contribution to its significance and is accompanied by a management plan. The document will be a material consideration in planning decisions within the conservation area.

The document should be read alongside the Conservation Areas Overview Document which sets out the context in which conservation areas in Rushmoor have been designated.

We have also produced a Consultation Statement for the South Farnborough Conservation Area.
