With the Queensmead car park removed for the new facility, a new surface car park will be built on the neighbouring Pinehurst car park site.

Accessible parking will also be available next to the building.

During the build, The Meads multi-storey car park is the main town centre car park, other nearby surface car parking is available at the Kings Moat car park, behind Iceland.

Larger vehicles can park in the former Farnborough Leisure Centre car park.

Construction work

During the construction, the normal site working hours will be 8am to 6pm.

Weekend working will only take place where necessary and, wherever possible, advance notice will be provided.

As with any major construction project, there may be periods of disruption to local residents and businesses.

Early works will include groundworks and piling operations, which may generate temporary noise and vibration.

Throughout the project, if you live or work nearby, you may also notice construction traffic, deliveries of materials and the operation of plant and equipment within the site boundary.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during the work.

If you have any questions, concerns or require further information, you can the site team by emailing info@pellikaan.com. Alternatively, you can leave a message in the site Idea box located next to the pedestrian entrance gate.

Key decisions and permissions

In spring 2026, planning permission was granted for new leisure facilities in Farnborough.

We have entered into a development management agreement with Alliance Leisure Services to build Farnborough Pools and Fitness. Alliance will oversee the project and Pellikaan Construction will carry out the build, with completion and fit out scheduled for late 2027.

We have appointed Everyone Active, to run Farnborough Pools and Fitness on our behalf.

Everyone Active will be involved in the final designs and fit-out of the new centre. You can find out more about the company on the Everyone Active website

Old leisure centre site

We will be exploring alternative uses for the former leisure centre site as part of the wider long-term development of the civic quarter, which would include the planned new public park area. The skate park will remain where it is for the moment.
