Residents, local groups and businesses in Farnborough and Aldershot are being invited to come and find out more about the new leisure and cultural hub planned for Farnborough town centre.

The special open event has been organised by Rushmoor Borough Council for Wednesday 22 November to give local people the chance to hear from the architects about its exciting proposals for the new leisure and sport centre and its plans to create spaces for arts and cultural events and activities. There will also be updates on the wider civic quarter development and Farnborough town centre.

Two sessions are planned, one from 4.30pm to 6pm and one from 6.30pm to 8pm, and there will also be the opportunity for people to share how they would like the new leisure and cultural hub to look and feel, how they would like to use it, and the sorts of activities they would like to see there.

The event is taking place at the council offices, Farnborough Road, Farnborough, and is open to all.

Anyone planning to come along is asked to let the council know, if possible, using the short sign-up form available on our leisure and cultural hub event page. Anyone who can’t attend but would like to be involved in future events can also use the form to express their interest.

Councillor Martin Tennant, Rushmoor Borough Council’s deputy leader and Cabinet member for major projects and property, said: “These are exciting times as we plan the detail of the new leisure and cultural hub, and we are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to our special event on 22 November.

“Our message is that this will be your facility and therefore we need get it right for you – so please join in and be part of its future.”
