What to expect if you attend a meeting.

For each meeting, we normally publish an agenda, including details of when and where it will be held and what will be discussed.

Date and times of meetings

Details of all our meetings can be found on our Meetings calendar

Most meetings are held in the evening, starting at 7pm and last around two hours.

Who can attend

All meetings of the Council, Cabinet, our policy and review panels and committees are open to the public. Seating is provided in a public gallery.  Sometimes a meeting (or part of a meeting) will be held in private for reasons of confidentiality. When this happens, these items will be included at the end of the agenda and when this point is reached, the public will be asked to leave.

Agenda

An agenda will be available at least five working days before the meeting along with reports and papers which relate to the items on the agenda. Copies of all the agendas are available on our Meeting, agendas and minute pages. We produce notes or minutes about what was discussed and what decisions were made. Copies of all the minutes are available on our Meetings, agenda and minutes pages.
