Information about the Rushmoor Local Plan examination.

Consultation on main modifications to the submitted plan

We are consulting on proposed main modifications to the submitted plan, together with the accompanying sustainability appraisal report addendum, which we have prepared at the inspector's request. The proposed main modifications are  put forward without prejudice to the inspector's final conclusions on the plan.

Consultation dates

The six-week public consultation period runs from Friday 7 September to 5pm on Friday 19 October 2018.

We have published proposed main modifications, appendices (policies maps modifications) and a sustainability appraisal report addendum. We have also published a list of minor modifications, which are for information only.

Submitting your comments

Please submit your comments on the proposed main modifications and accompanying sustainability appraisal report addendum by 5pm on Friday 19 October.

You should also include your name and address or your organisation and contact details. Personal information will not be made public when the comments are published on the examination website. You can read about how we will use the information you give us in our Privacy notice for Planning.

What we will do with your comments

We will submit your comments to the inspector, to be taken into account before the publication of the inspector's report. We expect to receive the report towards the end of the year.

What you can't comment on

We will not accept general comments on the draft Local Plan and other planning matters, which do not relate to the proposed main modifications or to the accompanying sustainability appraisal report addendum at this stage in the examination.

Public hearings

Find out more about the public hearings for the Local Plan examination, which ran from 9 to 18 May, 2018, including detailed agenda for each day pdf icon matters and issues for examination [140kb] and links to further statements submitted by the council and participants in each session.

During the hearing sessions, the inspector issued pdf icon actions for the council [149kb] and the council published its pdf icon response [2Mb] on 18 June, followed by a pdf icon Statement of common ground with Farnborough Aerodrome Residents' Associaton (FARA) [477kb] on 20 June 2018.  The inspector sought responses only from the council on these actions.  

Submission of Local Plan and supporting evidence

We submitted the Draft Submission Rushmoor Local Plan 2017 for examination to the Secretary of State, via the Planning Inspectorate, on 2 February 2018.  

Along with the plan, we also submitted the proposed changes to the policies map 2017, proposed modifications to the plan and supporting evidence, including copies of all representations we received during the most recent public consultation on the plan, which took place between 9 June and 21 July 2017.

Planning inspector

The Planning Inspectorate appointed Inspector Louise Gibbons BA(Hons) MRTPI, in accordance with section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended), to conduct the examination and to determine if the plan is sound. 

The inspector published her pdf icon guidance note [234kb] on 5 March.

Programme officer for the examination

Ms Rosemary Morton was appointed as independent programme officer to help the planning inspector during the examination and to liaise with all parties, including the council, on an impartial basis. 

The programme officer issued an pdf icon introductory letter [30kb] on 5 March.
