Adoption of Local Plan

Our full Council adopted the Rushmoor Local Plan on 21 February 2019.

Inspector's report

We received the pdf icon inspector's final report [424kb] on 14 January 2019.  Having considered all the evidence before her, including the most recent public consultation responses, the inspector concluded that the Local Plan is 'sound' and provides an appropriate basis for the planning of the borough, subject to a series of pdf icon main modifications [554kb] .

    Consultation on proposed modifications

    The public consultation on the proposed main modifications to the draft submission Local Plan and its related documents ended on 19 October 2018.   We reviewed the comments we received and submitted them to the planning inspector.     Submission of Local Plan and supporting evidence

    We submitted the pdf icon Draft Submission Rushmoor Local Plan 2017 [3Mb] for examination to the Secretary of State, via the Planning Inspectorate, on 2 February 2018.  

    Along with the plan, we also submitted the proposed changes to the policies map 2017, proposed modifications to the plan and supporting evidence, including copies of all representations we received during the most recent public consultation on the plan, which took place between 9 June and 21 July 2017.

    Planning inspector

    The Planning Inspectorate appointed Inspector Louise Gibbons BA(Hons) MRTPI, in accordance with section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended), to conduct the examination and to determine if the plan is sound.

    Programme officer for the examination

    Ms Rosemary Morton was appointed as independent programme officer to help the planning inspector during the examination.  Her role ended when the inspector's report was issued.
