Aldershot Military Museum

Queens Avenue, Aldershot, GU11 2LG.

Housed in the only surviving brick-built barrack blocks left in Aldershot, the museum tells the story of daily life for both soldier and civilian. The story of Aldershot military town and the towns of Aldershot, Farnborough and Cove is told using vibrant collections in the fascinating, original buildings.

Explore the site, admire the tanks, take on the assault course and join in with the hands-on activities. Throughout the year, the museum also runs a programme of fun, family-friendly exhibitions and events.

40 years of Aldershot Military Museum exhibition

Aldershot Military Museum opened on 19 April 1984, making 2024 the 40th year of sharing the history of Rushmoor! To celebrate, the museum has put together a display of the history of the museum, from its initial fundraising project to the addition of buildings and galleries, through to Hampshire Cultural Trust taking over the in 2014.

FAST Museum

Trenchard House, 85 Farnborough Road, Farnborough, GU14 6TF.

The museum of the Farnborough Air Sciences TRUST, next to Farnborough airfield holds a collection of aircraft (actual and model), satellites, simulators and other unique material related to Farnborough’s world famous Royal Aircraft Establishment. The museum also offers exclusive guided tours of areas of Farnborough’s historic aviation quarter, not normally open to the public.

Royal Army Physical Training Corps Museum

Fox Lines, Queen’s Avenue, Aldershot, GU11 2LB.

Founded in 1953, the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC) Museum tells the story of the officers and instructors who train the British Army to be Fighting Fit and Fit to Fight.

Based 'behind the wire' at the Army School of Physical Training, the museum showcases the historic and current-day equipment used by the corps in over 160 years of service. The museum houses a substantial collection of medals, uniforms, weapons, paintings, sporting and Olympic memorabilia and historic training equipment from throughout the corps’ history.
