North Hants Employment and Skills Zone

The North Hants Employments and Skills Zone is for 18 to 24 year olds who need help accessing training and employment opportunities.

There are drop-in facilities and a regular programme of events, with the chance to meet local employers.

Traineeship Plus

A traineeship can prepare you for your future career, by helping you move into further education, get ready for the world of work through work experience and improve your chances of getting an apprenticeship or other job. 

Whilst on the programme, you will receive support with English and maths through activities related to the workplace and you will also develop your employability skills and work towards an accredited employability qualification. To find out more please contact skills.participation@hants.gov.uk or call 01962 846193.

Supported Internship Programme

Supported internships are designed for young people who really want to move into employment. They aim to give you your first experience of working with an employer, equipping you with the skills you need for work, to help you get a permanent paid job. 

They are for 16 to 24 year olds with an Educational Health Care Plan who want to work, but as yet, have not had the opportunity. Details can be found on the Your Future website. For further information or to request an application form, please contact skills.participation@hants.gov.uk or call 01962 846193.

Speed You Up - WSX Enterprise

Interested in starting your own business? If you are between 16 and 25 years of age, live in Surrey or Hampshire and are not currently working, this might be something for you. 

This European funded project will help you to discover your skills and talents and advise you on how to choose a type of business you could run in the future. The project will guide you through all the stages of a business set up and give you the confidence and knowledge needed when you are self-employed or when you are working for someone else.

Prince's Trust

If you are aged 16 to 30 years old and want to gain experience, skills, training and the confidence to help you into work, the Prince's Trust run a range of programmes that can help you.
