Rushmoor Borough Council’s Cabinet has recommended approval of a new Delivery Plan for the year ahead, setting out the Council’s priorities, and the key projects and activities that will deliver them.
The Delivery Plan 2025/26 is structured across five themes:
- Skills, Economy, and Regeneration
- Homes for All: Quality Living, Affordable Housing
- Community and Wellbeing: Active Lives, Healthier and Stronger Communities
- Pride in Place: Clean, Safe and Vibrant Neighbourhoods
- The Future and Financial Sustainability
Each priority has a number of key activities and measures which determine its success. For example, in the Community and Wellbeing section, one of the key activities is to make sure all residents have access to opportunities for physical exercise, including a new leisure centre in Farnborough. The target which will be measured is the delivery of the Leisure Centre, which will have an impact on above average obesity rates in the borough.
As well as recommending approval of the Delivery Plan for 2025-26 to full Council in July, Cabinet members also agreed to complete annual Delivery Plans over the next three years, during the potential transition period to creating a new unitary council.
The Leader of Rushmoor Borough Council, Councillor Gareth Williams, said: “We agreed our priorities based on the things that we know matter to you. Our aim is to improve life for everyone who lives or works in our borough.
“This is not just another plan – this is about how we are going to deliver on our priorities such as having a decent home to live in, being able to get a well-paid local job, having safe and clean streets and being part of an active and engaged community.
“Over the next year we will publish regular updates on how we are doing against the actions we’ve set out in our Delivery Plan, fulfilling our promise to be accountable to residents and transparent in our actions.”
