We are preparing a range of background studies to help shape the new Local Plan.
These will give us a better understanding of local needs, issues and opportunities, and will help us make sure that the new plan is based on clear and up-to-date evidence.
Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment
We are preparing a Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment to help us understand the potential economic, social and environmental effects of the new local plan.
The first step is the preparation of a scoping report which sets out the baseline information, relevant policy context and a framework of objectives that will be used to assess the emerging local plan.

Habitats Regulations Assessment Pre-Screening Report
We have also prepared a Habitats Regulations Assessment Pre-Screening Report to provide background information on designated habitat sites in Aldershot and Farnborough. It is also for identifying key plans and projects that may be relevant to the screening stage of the Habitats Regulations Assessment.
This report represents the pre-screening baseline stage of the Habitats Regulations Assessment, to help understand the environmental context, before starting the formal policy screening.
