50 years of Rushmoor exhibition

Explore the people, places, and stories that have shaped Aldershot and Farnborough over the past five decades at the Rushmoor 50 Exhibition. This vibrant display brings local history to life through five themed sections:

  • Farnborough Town – its growth, culture, and community
  • Farnborough Aviation – pioneering flight and aerospace innovation
  • Aldershot Military – the town’s role as the Home of the British Army
  • Aldershot Town – civic pride and everyday life
  • Rushmoor – shared heritage and future aspirations

Curated and written and curated by leading local historians, the exhibition features photographs and stories from local archives. Drop in and discover your local area's story.

Community heritage art trail

Friday 12 to Sunday 21 September, Aldershot

Celebrate the creative spirit of Aldershot! The AMC Wellbeing Café has brought together local residents to create a collection of heritage-inspired artworks. These pieces will be featured in shop and business windows throughout the town centre during Rushmoor Heritage Festival, offering a walking trail of creativity, community, and local stories.

Pick up a trail map from Karuna Coffee on Wellington Street and explore vibrant artworks crafted by people from all walks of life. Each piece tells a unique story connected to Aldershot’s past and present—from shared memories to modern interpretations.
