If you live locally, you can get rid of your unwanted bulky waste items for free, with our walk-up service.
We want to reduce the amount of fly-tipping in Aldershot and Farnborough, but also give you the opportunity to get rid of bulky waste items if you don’t have access to transport.
Upcoming locations and dates
We are running a second wave of trials of our popular Walk this Waste service. We are doing this to get enough data to assess its impact on fly-tipping and help shape a potential future service.

We will try to keep to the above schedule of times, but they may change, if the vehicle gets full and has to be emptied.
This is a continuation of our trial of our Walk this Waste service (previously called mega-skips) and if you live near to the locations on any upcoming dates, you can walk up to 3 items of bulky waste, per household, (such as beds, household electricals and furniture) to our mobile van for disposal.
We know that some areas in Rushmoor have not experienced this service, but the areas receiving this service have higher rates of fly-tipping, and they have been prioritised.
This is the final set of trials before councillors decide whether this service should be rolled out permanently.
Items you can get rid of during Walk This Waste
When we are operating our Walk This Waste service, we will accept items including mattresses, beds, furniture, fridges, freezers, microwaves, washing machines, TVs and carpets.
We won’t accept items like bags of household waste, commercial waste, hazardous waste (including asbestos and gas canisters) and paints.
We will accept anything that we normally collect on our bulky waste collection service. Please see our full list of items that we can and cannot collect on the day.
How the collection works
You can only get rid of your item(s) if you have walked-up to the collection point. You cannot drive up to use the service. If you do, you will be turned away. Instead, if you have access to a vehicle take your items to Hampshire County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
Our mobile van will be collecting items from the fixed points that we have listed above. If our van is full, it will have to go to the depot to be emptied and come back later. We will try to keep to an advertised schedule, but the times may change.
You can walk-up and drop off up to 3 household items at the collection point. There is a limit of up to 3 items per household. Please check to see if the mobile van is at your chosen location before walking your items to it.
You need to show us proof of your address in Rushmoor when you arrive.
You must not dump anything along the route. We have enforcement officers who will take action if you do this.
We will not tolerate any rude or aggressive behaviour and anyone who does so, we will not accept their waste.
Other ways to get rid of your bulky waste
If you have an item to get rid of and can’t use this service at the moment, you can always use our bulky waste collection service for a fee, or take your items for free to one of Hampshire County Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
