Wonderseekers At Rushmoor Eco Festival

Eco Festival logoWe are holding a free to attend Eco Festival on Sunday 13 September at the West End Centre.

You can come and find out about how we can all play our part in helping to tackle climate change. Learn more about sustainable living and find local businesses selling sustainable, local or upcycled products. 

Our event hopes to raise awareness of environmental issues and promoting local greenspaces. 

This is a family event and there will be activities for all ages.

You can also get involved locally by joining the Rushmoor Climate Community group

Stallholders

We are currently looking for stallholders and still have spaces available, if you are interested, please email sustainability@rushmoor.gov.uk.

What's on

We will also have a programme of activities, shows and talks in the theatre.

This will be shared closer to the time.


Enter our climate art for action competition 

We have an art competition for young people (aged 4 to 25) to enter, with the theme of: Beauty in Local Nature.

If your art wins, you will receive a prize and it will be exhibited at the Eco Festival.

We hope you find inspiration in our local greenspaces and natural surroundings. We eagerly anticipate your own interpretation of the theme and look forward to exploring a diverse array of art pieces and perspectives.

We will judge your entries on their creativity, innovation, as well as if it raises awareness or creates a meaningful message.

Categories and art we will accept

  • 4 to 11 year olds 
  • 12 to 16 year olds 
  • 17 to 25 year olds

You can submit physical artwork, such as painting, mixed media, textiles sculpture - as well as digital pieces, including graphics and typography. However, all artwork must be original and created without the use of AI. 

How to enter

Please submit your entry by email to climatechange@rushmoor.gov.uk with the following details: 

  1. Name of entrant
  2. Age of entrant
  3. Title of artwork
  4. Short paragraph about the piece (max 50 to 100 words) - optional
  5. Contact email address. If you are under 18, please provide parent/guardian's name and contact details 

You can also drop off a physical piece of artwork to the council offices reception at Rushmoor Borough Council, Farnborough, GU14 7JU. Please make sure to make it for the attention of 'Climate Change'.

This competition has been shaped by our Youth Climate Ambassador group.
