Planning and responding to major emergencies
What will happen if there is a major emergency in Aldershot or Farnborough.
If there is a major incident in Aldershot or Farnborough, our role is to support the emergency services. We plan and train for such an incident.
Examples of a major incident:
- Severe weather, such as flooding, snow and heatwaves
- Transport crashes
- Landslides
- Earthquakes
- Epidemics
- Fire and building collapse
- Terrorism acts
- Escape of dangerous chemicals
We use our Emergency response plan [971kb] for dealing with these emergencies and work together with Hampshire County Council's Emergency Planning Unit to:
- Support the emergency services to protect people and places
- Provide care and support to affected people
- Work to restore the community once the emergency services have finished their work
