Playfest, Aldershot’s action-packed day of fun, hands-on play and games for all ages is back on Saturday 29 August.
The popular event organised by Rushmoor Borough Council will be bringing lots of family fun to Aldershot town centre from 10am to 4pm, and best of all – all of the activities are free!
Families can step into an incredible virtual reality world of minibeasts, jump behind a DJ desk to mix some tunes or be amazed by the science shows which will be packed with bangs, bubbles and surprises!
Next, they can climb and explore the adventure cave, create a colourful rainbow snack, learn some karate moves, build a brilliant brick invention or make some music. The hands-on fun continues with colourful slime making and a trip to the forest school.
After all that, visitors can help to create a crazy floor painting masterpiece, build a large-scale sculpture, meet real beekeepers and then take a break in the chill-out space and listen to some magical storytelling.
Families will also be able to take part in workshops at the community bandstand with opportunities to discover a hidden talent, get creative and make some summer memories together.
Councillor Sophie Porter, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities and Active Lives at Rushmoor Borough Council said: “Playfest is such a popular event for local families, marking the end of the school holidays. It’s always a pleasure to see children and parents enjoying the hands-on activities, having fun together and creating lasting memories. We hope to see you there!”
All the activities are free and aimed at primary school-aged children aged four plus, but everyone is welcome to take part. Children must be accompanied at all times.
