Private renting

Private renting offers the widest choice and is usually the fastest way to find a home.

The properties you can choose from are advertised online, through letting agents, in local papers and by word of mouth.

Affordable home ownership

If buying a home outright is not possible, schemes such as shared ownership or rent to buy can help you get onto the property ladder. This can often mean lower upfront costs for you.

Social housing

Social housing is for people with the greatest housing need. Homes are owned and managed by housing associations and allocated through our housing register.

If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness

If you are homeless or worried you may lose your home, contact our housing options team as soon as possible. We will try to help you from becoming homeless and support you to find somewhere safe to live.
