Aldershot Lido has celebrated a successful summer, welcoming 80,457 visits during the 2026 swimming season.
The popular outdoor pool, managed by Everyone Active, which acts as an agent for Rushmoor Borough Council, welcomed thousands of visitors throughout the season, with July proving to be the busiest month with 25,645 visits.
The busiest day of the season was Wednesday 29 July, when 3,118 visits were recorded.
Alongside its regular swimming programme, Aldershot Lido introduced a number of special events and activities during the season, including a Community Fun Day to mark the start and end of the season, a National Yoga Day event, Sunset Yoga sessions and a Splash and Bounce event.
The season ended with the return of Doggy Splash, which saw more than 2,500 dogs and their owners visit Aldershot Lido across six sessions, with dogs from across the local community enjoying the outdoor pool.
The lido also continued to support local community activities, with Blackwater Valley Canoe Club using the pool throughout the season.
Ashley Miles, General Manager at Aldershot Lido, said: “It’s been a fantastic summer at Aldershot Lido, with more than 80,000 visits making it a hugely successful season.
“It’s been brilliant to see so many people enjoying the outdoor pools, as well as our new events and the return of the much-loved Doggy Splash sessions.
“Thank you to everyone who visited this summer, and to our fantastic team for all their hard work in making it such a memorable season.”
Councillor Sophie Porter, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities and Active Lives at Rushmoor Borough Council said: “What a long hot summer it was! Welcoming more than 80,000 visitors is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates just how valued Aldershot Lido is by residents and visitors alike.
“The lido offers a fun, affordable way for people to keep active, enjoy the outdoors and make summer memories with family and friends.”
The lido is now closed for its annual winter maintenance programme, with the pool drained and cleaned ahead of preparations for the 2027 swimming season.
