Financial support to businesses during coronavirus

There are a number of grants and financial support schemes available to help businesses affected by the coronavirus crisis.

Covid-19 discretionary grant scheme - 4 to 17 August

The government has made further funding available so we can support small businesses.

The second round of our discretionary grants scheme was aimed at small and micro businesses that were not eligible for the small business grant fund or the retail, leisure and hospitality fund that were announced in March.

You can find out more in our pdf icon Covid-19 discretionary grants fund policy (August) [105kb].

The deadline for applying for this grant has now passed. Thank you to everyone who applied. We will let everyone know the outcome of their application by 28 August.

Small business rate relief grants

If you are eligible for small business rate relief, you should have received a £10,000 grant to help meet on-going costs.

We sent eligible businesses a letter and an application form. Where we didn't have an alternative address for you, the letter would have gone to your business address. If you are unable to access your business address at the moment, please fill in our pdf icon Small Business Rate Relief application form [87kb] and email it to us, using the details on this page.

Support for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses

All retail, hospitality and leisure businesses in England have received a 100% business rates holiday for the next 12 months.

You are also entitled to a grant of between £10,000 and £25,000, depending on your rateable value.

We have sent eligible businesses a letter and an application form. Where we didn't have an alternative address for you, the letter would have gone to your business address. If you are unable to access your business address at the moment, please fill in our pdf icon Retail, Leisure and Hospitality grant application form [87kb] and email it to us, using the details on this page.

Early years businesses

Businesses that follow the early years foundation stage (EYFS) standards or that are registered on the Ofsted early years register are eligible for relief.
