We welcome questions from the public at our full council meetings. Find out more.
You can ask a question at a full council meeting. You need to either live or work in Rushmoor or represent a business or local group that is in Rushmoor.
Depending on your question, it will be put to the Leader of the Council, a member of the cabinet or the chair of a committee.
So that we can answer the question as fully as possible, providing the right information or statistics, we need to have your question by 5pm at least four working days before the meeting.
Questions are answered at the council meeting. You can read out your question in the meeting, or if you prefer, the mayor will either circulate or read out your question for you.
So that we get the right information from you, we recommend you fill our form, but you can also ask a question using the contact information below.
Previous questions and answers
We publish all questions and answers, including rejected ones, with the agenda of our council meetings, following the meeting. They are also published with the minutes of the meetings.
We started this scheme at the Council meeting held on Thursday 16 October 2025.
Questions we choose
Your question can be about anything that our council has powers or duties over, or which affects Aldershot and Farnborough.
Questions that are the same or similar to one already asked in the past six months are unlikely to be accepted.
Rejected questions
Our Managing Director and mayor together may reject a question, if in their opinion it is:
- Not about something that the council has responsibility for, or does not affect our towns
- Defamatory, frivolous, vexatious, or offensive
- Referring to legal proceedings taken or anticipated by or against the council
- The same or similar to a question that has been asked in the past six months
- Going to disclose confidential or exempt information
- Better to be answered under the Freedom of Information Act or the Data Protection Act
- Providing allegations against individual councillors or officers
Please see our scheme for public questions from our constitution for full details.
