Last week we were thrilled to unveil a new mural celebrating Aldershot Town Football Club’s unforgettable FA Trophy victory outside the EBB stadium with some of the fans who have helped to make it possible.
Using the familiar red and blue of the club colours, the mural includes three fan groups logos of the Stray Shots, East Bank, Aldershot and Aldershot Town FC Supporters Club. It also features the famous FA Trophy, iconic Wembley arches and the memorable moment in May when an open top bus toured the town to celebrate the victory.
The idea originally came about when Alan Walker of the Stray Shots supporters’ club shared his dream during the post-parade celebrations of giving the town a lasting tribute to the club’s historic Wembley win.
Councillor Sophie Porter, the Deputy Leader of Rushmoor Borough Council championed the idea, working alongside fans to help shape the mural’s concept. The finished mural has been created by James Titchner from The Mural Artists, supported by the council and funded from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Alongside the mural, new information boards also detail the history of the club.
