Rushmoor Borough Council and Loungers are delighted to announce a new café-bar venture in Farnborough, marking another milestone in Loungers' nationwide expansion and the continuing regeneration of Farnborough’s town centre.

The new venue will look out onto the town’s new ‘Landing’ area and bring a welcome new dining and social destination for families, friends, and evening groups, as well as investment and jobs to the heart of the community.

It will occupy 16-18 The Meads as part of a transformation planned for the north entrance to The Meads. The planning application, approved last night, details plans for a small extension.  Designed as an informal, all-day cafe-bar, the site, which is scheduled to open next year, is set to offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks, in an environment tailored to feel like a ‘home-from-home’ for residents and visitors alike.

There will be a separate licensing application in the near future.

Councillor Julie Hall, Cabinet lead for Economy, Skills and Regeneration at Rushmoor Borough Council, said:

“This offers an exciting addition to our town centre, providing families and people who simply want to catch up with friends over a coffee, or evening drink, a new and relaxed venue to enjoy.

“We are delivering on our promises and continuing to transform our town centres to meet the needs of residents and attracting new and dynamic businesses such as Loungers is a key part of these changes.”

Loungers is proud to bring new jobs and investment to Farnborough’s town centre. The company’s brand has always emphasised community engagement and local identity, with each venue individually named and decorated to reflect its surroundings.

A spokesperson for Loungers says: “We’ve been looking for the right site in Farnborough for some time. We’re excited to bring our hospitality concept to this community and become somewhere that locals will make their own - whether that’s for a coffee after the school run, a relaxed evening out, or a celebration. We hope our family friendly environment, and high-quality food and drink food offering will prove popular with residents.”

Further details on the opening date, menu, and hiring opportunities will be announced closer to the opening.
