Comedy fans will be delighted this autumn as Rushmoor Borough Council and Hampshire Cultural Trust announce the first ever Aldershot Comedy Festival.

The festival will see a host of fantastic comedy shows and events taking place between Aldershot’s two historic theatres, the Princes Hall and the West End Centre from 23 September to 3 October.

There will be something for everyone with top stand-up comedy from some of the biggest names on the UK circuit, including Henning Wehn, Marcus Brigstocke, Angela Barnes, Emmanuel Sonubi and Flo & Joan, as well as unpredictable mayhem from Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and Sh!t Faced Shakespeare, and risqué comedy from Hundred Watt with a comic evening of burlesque and cabaret. You can even try your hand at stand-up yourself with the Kevin Precious Comedy Workshop, or grab the popcorn for a screening of the romantic comedy Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy.

Councillor Sophie Porter, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Healthy Communities and Active Lives at Rushmoor Borough Council said: “We’re thrilled to be launching the first ever annual Aldershot Comedy Festival, bringing together brilliant performers and a fantastic programme across two of our much-loved venues. Whether you’re a die-hard comedy fan or just looking for a fun night out on your doorstep, there’s something here for everyone. Annual events like this help bring our community together, support local venues and offer something truly special for our towns.”
