The council is pleased to see proposals being brought forward for the redevelopment of the Cody Technology Park in Farnborough.

Cody Technology Park is the borough’s largest employment area, sitting alongside Farnborough Airport and within its own secure perimeter. Recognised in the Rushmoor Local Plan as one of the borough’s strategic employment sites, the development proposals being brought forward offer an encouraging step towards delivering the ambitions set out in the plan.

The proposals would see the refurbishment of existing facilities and the delivery of new high-quality industrial units.  The site is particularly well-suited to the aerospace, defence and technology sectors, which the council has identified as key areas for economic growth.

Cody Technology Park is the largest remaining development and employment opportunity in the borough and is therefore critical to achieving the council’s growth ambitions for its towns. The proposals would also help to strengthen the presence of QinetiQ, one of the country’s leading technology companies with a longstanding history in the borough - supporting local jobs.

The current proposals are subject to public consultation in advance of a planning application, and we are encouraging residents, businesses, and stakeholders to take part to help shape the plans at this early stage.

Once a formal planning application is submitted, the council will carry out further consultation and assess the proposal against Local Plan policies and National Planning Policy Framework before making a decision on the finalised application.

You can see the plans and comment online on the Cody Technology Park website. The consultation closes on Sunday 31 August.
