We have used funding from the government to help us provide some temporary homes under resettlement schemes.

The Local Authority Housing Fund is a government scheme that is open to all councils in England.

It has allowed us to buy a small amount of housing in the local area for some people who are unable to find settled accommodation on resettlement schemes.

The housing we have bought

We have used the government's fund to invest in 9 properties in Rushmoor. The government decided to use:

  • 3 properties to accommodate Afghan households
  • 5 properties to accommodate Ukrainian guests
  • 1 property for general temporary accommodation

We have taken part in two rounds of funding from the government. Round 1 of funding was for the accommodation of Afghan refugees and Ukrainian guests. Round 2 of funding had two parts: Afghan resettlement and temporary accommodation. We are not taking part in round 3 of the government's scheme.

What happens to the accommodation

The accommodation we have bought is owned by us.

When the accommodation is no longer needed for resettlement, we will use it for temporary housing accommodation.
