Projects list

Project Summary of activity
A Taste of Rushmoor

A community-led celebration of Rushmoor’s rich cultural heritage through food. Residents, restaurants, and groups will share recipes and stories for the cookbook ‘A Taste of Rushmoor’. This will be designed by photography and graphic design students from Farnborough Sixth Form College. Catering students from the Vine Centre will recreate the dishes for a showcase that will celebrate the diversity and traditions of Rushmoor.

Community football league

Working with Farnborough Community Trust to encourage women from all backgrounds to join Farnborough Women’s Recreational Football Team. Students from Farnborough Sixth Form film studies will document the project.

A Winter's Gift

An inclusive storytelling and art project for local primary schools, designed to celebrate diversity and creativity. Children explored seven winter tales from different cultures, each receiving a beautifully illustrated winter-themed booklet. Teachers were provided with support packs to spark classroom discussions about global traditions.  As part of the project, pupils decorated large wooden gift boxes inspired by winter customs from around the world. These artworks were showcased at The Landing in Farnborough town centre on Sunday, 7 December, alongside live storytelling sessions. The festive display brought the community together to celebrate imagination, culture, and connection.

Celebrating Community

A program of sessions on ‘Celebrating Community’, focused on topics such as love Farnborough, good stewardship of our environment, what it is to be a good neighbour and appreciating other countries and cultures, This was held at St. Peter’s Church youth group.

Suffolk Puff community arts

A community arts project at the West End Centre in Aldershot, supported integration through cultural activities and raised awareness of local groups. Residents from the Crafty Culture sessions, ESOL classes, and the Sewing Café, created Suffolk Puffs for a hanging exhibition in the centre’s café. The project also featured a stall at the Aldershot craft fayre where children made Suffolk Puffs, fostering creativity, inclusion, and cultural exchange.

The meeting was facilitated by Belong, along with support from ourselves.
