Biodiversity action plan for Rushmoor 2016 - 2021
Find out about our biodiversity action plan for Rushmoor.
The Rushmoor Biodiversity Action Plan 2016-2021 [11Mb] provides the framework for a variety of initiatives to protect and improve biodiversity across Aldershot and Farnborough.
It also provides the basis for working with key partners, such as the community and voluntary groups on biodiversity projects across Rushmoor.
We formally adopted the action plan in March 2016 and it is a clear sign of the council's continued commitment on biodiversity issues.
Produced following a key stakeholder meeting on 20 February 2015 and public consultation, it identifies:
- Key habitats in Aldershot and Farnborough
- Priority species associated with different habitats
- Main threats to local biodiversity
- Key actions needed to protect and enhance biodiversity
The action plan builds on the work already carried out for the previous plan, which set out strategic local actions. It provides a more detailed overview of the local environment and the local threats to priority habitats and species.
