Before you start your work experience placement at Rushmoor, you will need to agree to our terms.
- There is no contract of employment or employer/employee relationship between us and yourself
- You will not receive any payment from us while doing the work experience placement
- Transport to and from the placement is your responsibility
- Dress code is normal office attire, unless instructed otherwise (for example, shirt and tie, no jeans). However, please do not feel you have to purchase new clothes in order to do work experience
- You are required to respect the guidance and directions given by your supervisor. Making sure that at all times your conduct and behaviour during your placement are of an acceptable standard
- When you are on council property, you must observe our rules and regulations as explained in our health and safety policy
- If you are involved in an accident while on council property during your placement, then you must report this to your supervisor. They will make an official record through the use of our incident reporting procedures. You will have the status of a voluntary worker as far as legal liability and accidents are concerned and there is no need for you to take out any extra special insurance, unless you choose to do so
- We will not normally accept any responsibility for theft of, loss or damage to personal property. We recommend that you look into the possibility of insuring yourself as you think proper against all such risks and to take advantage of any local facilities at the council which may exist for the safekeeping of property
- The importance of confidentiality is paramount and there is a legal duty to each customer to keep all information regarding that customer confidential, unless the customer gives permission for the information to be released to other people
- You must observe the utmost discretion with regard to the information which comes into your possession in the course of your work experience. You may have access to, or hear, information concerning the personal affairs of service users and/or staff, or other council business. Such records and information are strictly confidential and must not be discussed within, or more importantly, outside the council. This includes any postings on any form of social media
- Breach of any of the above conditions will be regarded as grounds for instant termination of the placement and the matter will be reported to your school/college if applicable. The agreement can be terminated on either side with no notice
