We are inviting everyone to take part in Victoria Day on Saturday 6 June and there are lots of exciting opportunities for residents, volunteers, community groups, schools and businesses to get involved.

You can join the parade, take part in carnival workshops, perform, join the planning group, road marshal - or something else! If you'd like to get involved, please follow the links below.

Take part in the parade

Everyone is invited to take part in the carnival parade, in groups or even on your own! Volunteers, community groups, marching bands and organisations from around Aldershot and Farnborough are encouraged to apply to take part.

The route is half a mile this year, starting at Princes Hall at 11am and ending at the High Street multi-storey car park at around 12.15pm.

This year the theme is 'Folklore and Fairy Tales' and we want everyone taking part to embrace our magical theme!

We are working with a leading national carnival organisation, Shademakers, to bring their amazing costumes and performers to the event this year. Groups will have the opportunity to use the Shademaker's carnival props and costumes during the parade.

Applications close on Monday 18 May, unless bookings reach capacity before this date.

Apply for a stall

You can book a stall in the lively markets on Union Street and in Princes Gardens. You could sell high quality food, crafts and gifts, fundraise, or just raise awareness of your community organisation. If you are a local business, you can book a table space in front of your store, free of charge.

Please read our stallholder application pack carefully before applying for a stall. It contains lots of further information and information about fees.

The majority of stalls will be gift based and there will be six subsidised stalls for not-for-profit community organisations in Rushmoor.

Please submit your stallholder application as soon as possible. Stallholder applications close on Friday 27 March, but may close sooner if we receive enough suitable applications.

Apply to perform

The event hosts two performance spaces:

  • The main bandstand in Princes Gardens
  • A 3x6m performance gazebo stage on Union Street

We welcome applications from local choirs, dance schools and community music groups in the bandstand.

We invite brass bands and acoustic acts to apply to perform in the performance gazebo. Expenses are available for brass bands and acoustic acts.

Applications close on Friday 6 March.

Volunteer on the day

On the day, our volunteers support the event with parade marshalling, stallholder arrival and helping with family activities. Our volunteers choose which elements of the event they would like to get involved in.

If you would like to find out more or volunteer for helping on the day, please email Jenny Atherton, Events and Cultural Projects Manager at towncentreevents@rushmoor.gov.uk.

Sponsor the event

We need to raise £10,000 to run Victoria Day and are looking for sponsors who would like to promote their brand to thousands of people people through our promotional channels. Please do get in touch if you would like to know more about sponsoring the event and we'll send you a sponsorship information pack.

Please email Jenny Atherton, Events and Cultural Projects Manager at towncentrevents@rushmoor.gov.uk.
