We’re delighted to be hosting the national Armed Forces Day this summer. The prestigious national event will be held over the weekend of 27 and 28 June.
We will honour the history and current service of the Armed Forces and offer a unique opportunity for everyone to enjoy a weekend of spectacular events and celebrations, bringing the community and Armed Forces together.
Along with the military, we will be organising a full programme of events for the celebrations.

What’s on
The events will celebrate over 170 years of military heritage through displays, museum activities, and ceremonial traditions.
Connecting visitors with Aldershot and Farnborough’s military past - Aldershot as the traditional home of the British Army and Farnborough as the birthplace of British military aviation.
There are more details to follow, but here’s a flavour of what to expect:
Saturday 27 June
- A formal day featuring a military parade along Queens Avenue
- Arena displays, including from current service personnel
- Music and entertainment
- Food area and a funfair
The focus of the day will be on recognising all those with interaction to the services - from cadets to veterans.
Sunday 28 June
A more relaxed, community-focused day with:
- Sports taster sessions
- Competitions
- Community activities
- Entertainment, stalls, food, and a funfair
Other events
In the lead-up to the weekend, there will also be events and activities, including school and youth engagement programmes, local arts projects, and events involving town centre businesses.
