Find out when all the family fun will be happening in Aldershot on Saturday 7 June. Including the carnival parade and timetables of live entertainment.
Carnival parade
This year, the carnival parade will be bigger and more colourful than ever before, with spectacular costumes and puppets. The amazing ‘Wonderful Water’ procession leaves Princes Hall at 11am. Aldershot’s own Queen Victoria, Betty Bryce will be leading the procession of over 800 local people.
Parade route
The parade starts at Princes Hall, goes along Princes Way, then turns left and travels down the High Street.
It ends at the High Street Multi-Storey Car Park, near the Naafi roundabout.
Market stalls and street entertainment
Visit 50 wonderful local craft, gift, community, food and drink stalls in Princes Gardens, Union Street and Wellington Street. Find out more about local community groups and support our small businesses by filling up your shopping bags.
You can also enjoy puppet shows, storytelling and interactive encounters with street entertainers, as you stroll around Union Street and Princes Gardens.
The Fairly Fresh Fish Co.
Look down upon the fishy tray - is all is as it should be? Prawns are dancing and an octopus comes to life! Witness stirrings in the jellied eel jar and discover a worrying seafood smoothie!
The Lifeguards
Perched high on their chairs with their classic pool rules signs, these silly lifeguards attempt to impose the timeless values of the municipal baths onto the streets of your town!
The Cheeky Bathers
Sun, sand, seagulls! The Cheeky Bathers are all at sea for some summertime fun. Donald has his brand new invention - a bellows camera. Why not stop for a seaside shell-fie? You might be in for a surprise!
The Admirable Admirals
Hoist the flag and shout Aye-aye! The Admirable Admirals are dropping anchor in Aldershot! Nelly, Bones and Fred will be battling flying fish, each other and any unsuspecting passers-by with their water pistols and salty sea-dog ways!
The Dragon
Become a contraptioneer! Take a turn cranking some machine handles to launch George - a giant
12 foot tall dragon. He plays music, blows bubbles and displays the joys and ingenuity of mechanical engineering.
Steamship Circus trike
Watch in awe as Steamship Circus perform aerial acrobatics on their water-themed trike. Look out for their stilt walkers too!
Punjeet and Judy-gee Show
Follow the travails of Punjeet, as he tries to be a good husband and father, (failing miserably), in this imaginative modern day twist on the traditional Punch and Judy! The show is perfect for all the family, with razor sharp satire for adults!
