Statement of the conclusion of audit of our accounts

The audit of the accounts of the council for the year ended 31 March 2017 was certified closed on 25 September 2017.

The 2016/17 audited Statement of Accounts includes the Narrative Statement, Auditor's Opinion and Certificate, and Annual Governance Statement (AGS).

You can inspect the Statement of Accounts and auditor's reports at the council offices between 9.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. You are allowed to do this under section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.

In addition, you can ask  for a copy of the Statement of Accounts and auditor's reports. We charge £5 for this service.

Budget book

The budget book is a financial statement of our policies and objectives for the forthcoming year. It provides detailed proposals on the 'General fund revenue budget and capital programme' and makes recommendations on the council tax level.

Efficiency plan 2016/17 to 2019/20

On 10 March 2016, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government wrote to us, setting out the conditions for the offer of a multi-year settlement. To allow us to take up this offer, we are required to produce an efficiency plan, which is locally-owned and driven. Our plan is set out below:
