Aldershot Urban ExtensionThe release of army land for private redevelopment means that Aldershot will be able to grow significantly for the first time in nearly a century.Rushmoor Borough Council has produced a framework for the future expansion of Aldershot to provide 4,500 new homes. Thank you to everyone who took part in the public consultation which took place January - February 2008. The responses were analysed and a number of minor issues were identified. These were addressed and incorporated into the document which was adopted at meeting of the cabinet on 10th March 2009.
The Aldershot Urban Extension will provide much needed new homes in Rushmoor and the south east and will make use of the the disused military land released by Project Connaught for development. New accommodation for military personnel will also be built as part of Project Connaught to the north of the Basingstoke Canal.
