An area of 80 acres of woodland in Farnborough.

Southwood Woodland is popular with families, offering a natural environment for walking and cycling.

The woodland is designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation and includes large areas of regenerating birch, together with mature oak field boundaries. Holly and hazel are other common species. Areas of alder, grassland and heathland form important habitats. Ground flora includes bluebells and ferns.

Conservation volunteering

You can get involved in helping to conserve the woodland. The Southwood Woodland group runs work parties on the fourth Sunday of every month from 10:30am to 3:30pm. Anyone can come along as the group will provide tools and training.

Car parking for the woodland is at the end of Kennels Lane.

You can find more information about Southwood Woodland on the Blackwater Valley Countryside's website.
