Members of Rushmoor Borough Council’s licensing team joined officers from Hampshire Constabulary to conduct a series of tests when underage volunteers tried to buy alcohol and gamble in Aldershot and Farnborough.

Eight premises which had previously failed testing back in July, who had undergone training with the council, were tested again and passed.

But one business which had not been previously tested failed when an underage volunteer bought alcohol through the self-service counter, and one gambling premises failed, allowing the underage volunteer to enter and gamble.

Staff from the two premises that failed have already undertaken training and will continue to be monitored by both the police and council.
