A fun and FREE day of play and games is coming to Aldershot town centre on Saturday 24 August.
Aldershot PlayFest! is an action-packed day of fun hands-on play and games for all ages. More than 30 free activities will be available to try throughout the town centre between 10am and 4pm.
Children can zoom into space in a virtual reality experience, join a dragon fossil dig, spray a street art mural, try crazy science experiments, pluck a ukulele, visit the magical story corner, make forest-themed crafts, watch a bonkers balloon science show, play with some noisy toys, have a kickabout, climb inside a giant adventure cave, create a fajita fiesta snack, learn karate moves, engineer a K-NEX invention, peak inside some beehives, try a mini assault course, join a ukulele jam and lots more! For toddlers, there are sensory games and a messy play station.
The Workshop Marquee in Union Street offers amazing opportunities for families to jump feet first into a world of pure creativity, make new friends and learn something new. Families will be able to take part in a mini-rave party, music, martial arts and dancing workshops.
Rushmoor Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Development and Economic Growth, Councillor Keith Dibble, said: “PlayFest! is back and bigger than ever! It’s incredible to see such a range of free family activities on offer, led by local organisations. I encourage children of all ages, and in fact all our residents, to come into town and enjoy the fun. There will be something for everyone.”
Activities are free and can be found outside on Union Street and Wellington Street between 10am-4pm. For more information and to view the programme, please visit our Playfest! pages.
The event is managed and funded by Rushmoor Borough Council, with part-funding through the UK Shared Prosperity fund. PlayFest! is sponsored by Wellesley.
