A series of special events celebrating Rushmoor’s history and traditions will be held this September with the launch of Rushmoor Heritage Festival.
More than 25 events will take place celebrating Aldershot and Farnborough’s unique heritage and culture - the local area’s largest celebration of history – from 6 to 15 September.
Featuring open days, guided tours, exhibitions, family fun days, backstage tours and other exciting activities, it's your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences, many of which will be FREE to explore.
Throughout this period, heritage sites across the UK are also opening their doors as part of Heritage Open Days, where you can explore hidden places and captivating spaces.
Rushmoor Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Development and Economic Growth, Councillor Keith Dibble, said: “We are excited to be promoting the amazing aviation, military, natural and cultural heritage of the area during Rushmoor Heritage Festival. Around 15 local organisations, many run by volunteers, will be hosting events. If you have ever wanted to visit the Wind Tunnels in Farnborough, take part in an outdoor escape game, have a guided tour of Aldershot Football Club with a star player, sit in a human centrifuge, or peak behind the scenes at the Princes Hall, now’s your chance!’
