We are pleased to let you know that we have submitted Rushmoor's bid to the second round of the government’s Levelling Up Fund in support of our ambitious regeneration plans for Farnborough’s civic quarter.
Our bid asks for £20 million, and if we are successful, it will significantly support our exciting proposals for a new leisure and cultural hub in the heart of Farnborough town centre. This will include a new library with cultural and arts facilities alongside a new swimming pool and leisure centre.
As part of the bid, we have outlined our vision for Farnborough town centre and our desire to support the health and wellbeing of our residents with access to top quality leisure facilities, community facilities and educational opportunities.
The Levelling Up Fund is designed to invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK. The £4.8 billion fund will support town centre and high street regeneration, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets.
We will know if our bid has been successful in the autumn.
In the meantime, we are continuing to draw up more detailed plans for the leisure and cultural hub, with a view to getting permission from our councillors to start final designs later this year.
