End of the Rushmoor Smartcard scheme

We are replacing all our pay-and-display parking machines, which means we are ending our Rushmoor smartcard scheme.

Replacement of pay-and-display machines

We have been replacing all of our pay and display machines.  This work is almost complete and the final machines will be up and running in the few weeks.

The new machines offer a wider choice of ways to pay including cash, credit and debit card by contact or contactless methods.  They also accept payment by bank cards registered to a mobile phone (Apple and Android pay).

The introduction of the new machines was delayed because there were some software issues.  We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and we are grateful for your patience while we continued to keep the older machines running during this time.

The Rushmoor Smartcard 

The Rushmoor Smartcard scheme has now come to an end as the new machines cannot accept this old technology.

Alternatives to the smartcard

If you use our car parks regularly to park all day and have been using the smartcard to buy tickets, you can transfer to parking permits as a way of making parking easier. This removes the need to buy a ticket from our machines. You can buy monthly or annual permits. You can find more details on our Car park permits page.
