Ribbon of Poppies

Ribbon of Poppies is an initiative launched to mark the centenary of Armistice. Find out how you can join in.

About Ribbon of Poppies

The Ribbon of Poppies  project was originally launched by The Memorial Mob with the aim of covering the UK in a 'carpet of crimson' in 2018 to mark the centenary of Armistice. As a lasting reminder to this poignant anniversary, we will continue the ribbon to remember all those who served in the First World War.

How you can support the ribbon

We would like to encourage you to keep the ribbon going and plant poppies in your front gardens, window boxes and pots to help create a continuous display as you travel through our towns.

We worked with the  Ribbon of Poppies Aldershot Garrison to create some special poppy beds in Municipal Gardens where members of the public and community groups can sow their seeds, and we invite you to continue this year on year.

As we approach the end of the growing season, you may consider harvesting any poppy seeds from this year. We would recommend that your seeds are re-sown during early spring (after the last frost)  and expect to see them start to bloom in late June and throughout the summer.
