Traffic regulation orders allow the highways authority to impose restrictions on such things as speed of traffic and parking.
About traffic regulation orders
Rushmoor Borough Council has delegated powers from Hampshire County Council to introduce traffic regulation orders for the following:
- One-way streets
- Parking/waiting restrictions
- Pedestrian movements
These are legal orders and are enforceable by law.
Timescales of traffic regulation orders
On average, a traffic regulation order takes between nine to 12 months from design to implementation.
Enforcement of traffic regulation orders
We can enforce the traffic regulation orders through our team of civil enforcement officers.
Temporary traffic regulation orders
Before we implement a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO), we hold a consultation to get the thoughts of the affected residents within the area. Your feedback helps us assess the scheme and allows us to include your ideas for any changes from our initial proposal.
If you have recently received a letter from us about a consultation for your road, it is useful to let us know your views.
We currently have no consultations running.
