How to take part in the parade, apply for a stall or volunteer to help on the day.
We are inviting everyone to take part in Victoria Day on Saturday 10 June and there are lots of exciting opportunities for volunteers, community groups, schools and businesses to get involved.
Join the planning group
Victoria Day is our biggest event of the year and it is our community volunteers that make the event extra-special. Aldershot Community Together's Victoria Day planning group will be meeting at the end of March and we invite you to come along to find out more about how to get involved.
There's lots of ways you can support the event, including the chance to shape the day's activities around the circus theme, helping us to promote the event locally and contacting local groups to see if they would like to get involved. You can even appear on local radio!
You can choose which elements of the event you would like to get involved in.
If you would like to find out more, please email Jenny Atherton, Events and Cultural Projects Manager at towncentreevents@rushmoor.gov.uk.
Take part in the parade
Everyone is invited to take part in the carnival parade, in groups or even on your own! The grand procession on the day at 11am, of more than 600 people will create a fantastic atmosphere and we encourage you to embrace the 'circus' theme.
If you are a volunteer, part of a community group or organisation from around Aldershot and Farnborough, we'd love you to apply to take part, alongside the vintage vehicles.
The route is shorter this year (0.5 miles), starting on Station Road at and ending at Princes Hall.
To apply, please complete the parade application form. Applications close on Sunday 28 May.
Join a carnival parade workshop
We will be holding some exciting new carnival-style parade workshops in the run-up to Victoria Day. These will include samba band and movement workshops with professional arts organisations and are a brilliant chance to get involved in the parade. There is a chance for the workshops to take place at your group's meeting place or school, alongside 'open' workshops for the general public.
If you would like to find out more, please email Jenny Atherton, Events and Cultural Projects Manager at towncentreevents@rushmoor.gov.uk.
