Energy efficiency in homes

What we are doing to improve home energy efficiency and how you can get help to improve your home.

Climate emergency

We have declared a Climate Emergency in Rushmoor and we have a climate change action plan showing the actions that we are taking.

We want to work with landlords, tenants and partners to identify households that are fuel poor or have poor energy efficiency. We want to improve the homes that people live in and reduce carbon emissions.

Home energy efficiency schemes

Under the Home Energy Conservation Act, we publish details of how we will improve energy efficiency in homes and reduce fuel poverty. We work with our partners to provide advice, support and help to our residents.

Hitting the cold spots service

This service provides advice to residents on heating, insulation, energy bills, smart meters and switching energy tariffs.

They also have a small budget to help residents with heating repairs and can provide portable heaters if a heating system breaks.

For more information, visit the Hitting the cold spots web page on Hampshire County Council's website

The Environment Centre

They provide up-to-date information on energy saving schemes and general energy saving advice.

Home improvement grants

We offer discretionary home improvement grants of up to £5,000.

You can use these grants to replace inefficient or defective central heating systems and boilers. You will need to be on a means-tested benefit or low income to qualify for help.
