Camping site licence
To have a camping site in Rushmoor, you need a licence from us.
If you use your land as a camping site for more than 42 days in a row - or 60 days in a year - you need a licence.
The Caravan sites and control of development act 1960 regulates this licence.
How to apply for a camping site licence
You can apply online for a licence using the GOV.UK website.

To do this you will need to use Adobe Reader 8.1 or above. Download the latest version of Adobe Reader.
You need to provide:
- Scale plan of the site
- Planning permission (if required). Contact Planning using the details on this page
Cost of a camping site licence
This service is free.
Inspections and assessment of the site
Once you apply, we will contact you and arrange to visit and inspect the proposed caravan site. We re-inspect the site from time to time after we approve the licence.
What happens after we receive your application
We aim to respond to your application within three working days.
We will tell you our decision within four weeks.
If you don't hear from us within four weeks you can assume your licence is granted with no conditions.
How to appeal our decision
Contact us - we may be able to help.
If we refuse your licence, or you want to appeal against a condition, you can go to the magistrates' court.
If you have concerns about a camping site, please contact our Pollution team.

If you have a complaint against a trader, we advise you to contact the trader first - preferably by letter (with proof of delivery).
If that has not worked and you are in the UK, the Citizens Advice will give you advice.
