Help for carers

Support is available for people who care for family, friends and loved ones.

There are many organisations, which provide help and information for carers.

Carers Together in Hampshire

Offers support for carers on a range of subjects, including advocacy, help with filling in benefits forms, personal support service in the home (limited to certain areas), planning for emergencies and applying for Direct Payments.

National charity supporting carers to get the right help, the right benefits and right workplace support.

Family Fund

The UK's largest provider of grants to low-income families raising disabled and seriously ill children and young people. Support to ease the additional family pressures including help with essential items such as washing machines, fridges and clothing as well as grants for sensory toys, computers and family breaks.

Offers a listening ear, practical help, advice and information to carers.

Independent Age

Offering support for Rushmoor residents aged 60 and over and their carers on a range of issues, including finding and paying for care, care needs, welfare benefits, and hospital discharges.

National Portage Association

Portage is a home visiting service, which offers support, help and advice to families with a young child who has special needs.

Providing support for children and adults with learning difficulties across the borough.

Rushmoor Carers Support Group

An umbrella group for all carers, regardless of whom they are caring for and the disability.

Organised by The Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire, the Rushmoor Carers Support Group meets on the first Thursday of the month (apart from January, August and December).
