A Summer Serenade

Music lovers can enjoy an afternoon of free live music in the Princes Gardens bandstand in Aldershot on Sunday, 12 September.

The Summer Serenade concert includes local bands Herd of Sax, the Rushmoor Concert Band, Trads Army Dixieland Band, the Farnborough Concert Band of The Royal British Legion, and Dr G's Little Big Band, who will play a wide range of music ranging from swing and jazz to traditional brass. The event, organised by Rushmoor Borough Council, runs from midday to 5.30pm.

Normally the council run a weekly bandstand concert programme over the summer, but this year and last the programme had to be cancelled because of the pandemic. The Summer Serenade concert forms part of the council's commitment to providing local groups with opportunities to perform outdoors before autumn arrives.

Rushmoor Borough Council's Cabinet member for Planning and Economy, Councillor Marina Munro, said: "We're delighted to see the bandstand come back to life, and hope that we will have some extra visitors in town to help us celebrate the return of live music in Aldershot town centre. This is a concert for all ages that will be the perfect backdrop to a late summer afternoon, and we hope that people will relax and listen with a picnic in the park."

The concert is subject to weather conditions and tickets are not required. For more information please visit our  page.
