Frost Fair to sprinkle festive magic over Farnborough

The Farnborough Frost Fair will be sprinkling Christmas spirit over Farnborough town centre on Saturday 24 November from 10am to 4pm.

The Frost Fair is Farnborough's biggest Christmas event organised for Rushmoor Borough Council by Fuse Projects.

There will be more than 45 stalls to browse along Queensmead, packed full of Christmas gift ideas - from local fine food and drink, to handmade jewellery and unique Christmas decorations and cards.

More than 100 performers from local bands, choirs and dance schools will take to the main stage, singing and dancing to Christmas classics and bringing festive cheer to the town centre.

This year, families can enjoy making Christmas decorations in the free children's crafts tent, have a go at circus skills with Juggling Jake, meet and greet the cast of Princes Hall's pantomime, Beauty and the Beast, meet the Little Dallas Donkeys, shake hands with a giant Snowman, have a ride on the Little Magic Ponies and so much more.

Councillor Liz Corps, Events and Civic Pride Cabinet Champion at Rushmoor Borough Council, said: "It's really starting to feel like Christmas is coming now, with our popular Frost Fair providing lots of choice for presents, with its happy festive feel."

Councillor Corps added: "The fair is the highlight of the festive season in Farnborough and it's a fantastic day for the town attracting lots of extra visitors who come to soak up the Christmas atmosphere and enjoy the free activities."

The day will also see the Christmas lights being switched on at The Meads, with a special guest appearance from X Factor and Dancing on Ice Star, Jake Quickenden as well as more free activities and local performers, dance groups and choirs.

Farnborough will also be hosting a Christmas Craft Fayre on Saturday 15 December, with a festive visit from the Little Dallas Donkeys and a brass band playing Christmas favourites.
